We tell you everything about our wools

Merino wool

The ideal wool for babies and children!

It is produced by sheep of the Merino breed, originating from Spain. France still has several Merino sheep farms.

It is very trendy for its many qualities:

- It is antibacterial and thermoregulatory which makes it the favorite wool of sportsmen

- It is composed of fibers three times finer than the traditional wool which explains its great softness!

- It is composed of fibers three times finer than those of traditional wool which explains why it is so soft

Cashmere wool

Cashmere comes from the fleece of the cashmere goats found in the Kashmir district in a region spreading from Northern Indian Kashmir to oriental Chinese Tibet.

During the harsh winters (-30 °C/ - 40°C), the goats grow a fine downy undercoat, doubling their summer coats. This dark grey duvet is sheared off or removed with a brush when the goats moult in spring. The annual production per goat is 150 grammes, which make cashmere an extremely precious wool.

Maintenance

To choose our yarns we have 2 criteria :

- The quality : 100% wool

- The ease of maintenance guaranteed by the supplier ("easy care" yarns)

Currently it is common to put sweaters with the rest of the laundry in normal detergents ... but this is only valid for sweaters that are not wool!

Ours are made of beautiful materials 100% wool, so they must be washed according to a very simple but precise protocol:

- Machine wash, preferably cold

- A soft spinning (500 turns)

- Special wool detergent in small quantity (we always tend to use too much product)

- A flat drying

With this system, no bad surprises!

A specificity of cashmere

It can pilling at the beginning, we can't avoid it!

Indeed, the fibers rub each other (especially when the knitting is loose) and the excess material is then rejected in the form of pilling. You just have to remove them during the first uses and the sweater stabilizes quickly.

Did you know that?

- Don't hesitate to wash your sweaters, they become softer!

- The lighter the color of your sweater, the softer it will be!

Viscosa

Did you know this?

Viscose is a semi synthetic fibre made from trees such as bamboo, pines and beech. Just like cotton, viscose is made of 90% cellulose ; which is then dissolved in a solution to produce a pulpy fabric to be spun into fibers and threads. Viscose is soft and silky.
