Agathe and her children, Joseph and Gabrielle
Settled since a few years in the capital, Agathe's family likes to take advantage of all the beauty of the city of Paris: a walk along the canal Saint-Martin or a visit to the museum that ends with an afternoon of fun in the Tuileries garden are the activities they love the most!
Agathe, can you introduce yourself?
I am married, the mother of 2 children, and a lawyer. I love family life, life with my friends, everything related to art, walks, good restaurants, and my profession.
Your field of activity?
I am specialized in intellectual property law and have been working for almost 10 years in patent litigation. Infringement actions are my daily business!
Have you always lived in Paris?
I grew up in the countryside, in a small town near Nantes. I came to Paris for my studies. My husband spent his childhood and adolescence in Les Sables-d'Olonne. We both love to get back to our roots, whenever we can.
We have been living in Paris for a few years. After living in Vincennes, we decided to do the opposite of what is expected when a family grows, by jumping into Paris rather than running away from it!
My "luxury" is not having a garden, but a shorter commute to work to make the most of the children.
How many children do you have and what is their name?
Our eldest is called Joseph and will soon be 5 years old, our youngest is Gabrielle and is (already!) 21 months old.
How did you choose your children's names?
For Joseph, it was simple: for 10 years I wanted a son with this name, which I thought would combine gentleness and elegance. Luckily, my husband liked it right away, especially since his grandfather, a very beautiful person, has this name.
We used to give a temporary name to our unborn child. Except for Gabrielle, it became unavoidable during the pregnancy. From temporary, it became definitive!
A place to go for a family walk to recommend?
On weekends, any stroll in Paris makes our hearts happy! If possible, we love being able to walk everywhere. A walk along the Canal Saint-Martin, which is just a few steps from our apartment (especially since the canal banks have become pedestrianized) is ideal. If we have a little more time, reaching the Louvre and walking there with the children makes us realize how lucky we are to live in Paris. In the museum, a short, rhythmic, game-like walk is enough to please them, especially when we promise to end the afternoon in the incredible playground of the Tuileries garden!
Your favorite activity to do with your family?
Baking! Everyone is on task, the little ones help each other, and the simple joy of tasting a cake made with our hands follows.
Your moment of escape on the weekend?
It's 8pm, the kids are falling asleep, the babysitter has arrived, quickly a dinner with friends! As long as possible, I try to do two short jogs during the weekend: if I'm alone, it clears my head and if my son accompanies me, we share a fun moment together (until the day he runs faster than me!).
When and how did you discover Marie Puce?
A colleague told me that she often dressed her daughter at Marie Puce. When I went to see what you were doing, I immediately liked the Marie Puce style and identity.
What do you like most about the Marie Puce boutique?
Like many people today, I like the fact that the products are made locally, whether in France or Europe. The products are of excellent quality. Their durability can also be seen in their timeless style.
As products, I like the dresses and blouses for girls, the mixed cardigans, the pants for boys with a modern touch of Liberty, all adorable. The baby shoes are also excellent.
Your last purchase at Marie Puce?
Two beautiful dresses for the holidays for my Gabrielle!
Your favorite Liberty?
The Bramble Ciel Liberty is very delicate.
What product or service do you think is missing at Marie Puce?
I'm preaching to the choir :), but a Marie Puce boutique in the 10th arrondissement would be a great place to be! The Lancry-Saint-Martin neighborhood is home to many families, often with young children. There are quality boutiques that are cherished by the people of the neighborhood or elsewhere!
